The Singaporean Friend

Currently Listening to Christopher Cross - Think Of Laura

I finally meet up with a Singaporean friend, Hilda, today after knowing each other for 4 years! It was a quick and brief meet up, exchanging hellos and hugs, and meeting her whole family at the Berjaya Times Square Hotel Lobby before she boards her transit bus back to Singapore at 3pm. I rushed there after my 2pm class, got there at 2.40, took me 10 minutes to finally get her on her mobile phone, chatted with her for a good 10 minutes, then byebye. :( I know i keep saying i'll be going there, like every year, i will try to make it this October! Bring me go makan yeah! ;)

God bless the efficient public transportation today.

By the way, i received a freaky friendster message from an old high school friend of mine. I have no idea why, but she's actually explaining her life to me, and i'm not a bit close to her at all! Why is she having this need to explain everything to me after all these years? Personality insecurity? It's been 5 years since we left high school dear, grow up okay? And she's spamming my inbox with messages everyday. Goodness!

Monkey, she asked about you though, did you get her message? :O

The Three Stooges

This is revenge for calling me pig all the time, you cow (Steven)! And for that day when i was absent, you bluff me saying got cryptography class. And also today for calling me turtle. You still owe me Ah Yat Abalone, bugger!

This shows that i'm running out of stuff to ramble about. It's getting late and i'm sleepy. Nites.

La Famille

Currently Listening to Maroon 5 - Sunday Mornings

My sister and her family came back from Australia a couple weeks ago and dropped by our place for a quick lunch today. I havent seen her for more than a year, and i was so eager to meet my new nephew, Mika. What a bundle of joy he is! Being told that he might be affected with Down Syndrome prior to his birth, my sister insisted on continuing with her pregnancy believing it's all gonna be alright, well, lady luck was on her side and he was born perfectly normal albeit with some minor difficulties. At 10 months old now, he giggles, smirks, laughs and mumbles a lot, which makes him even more cuter! One thing though, he couldn't stand the humid Malaysian weather and gets grumpy when the air conditioner's not turned on. Ah kids these days! At one point, he almost threw my mobile phone out of the car window! @.@. Now i know why my sis gave up her physiologist job and became a full time mum. LOL

We went to Tiam Fatt for lunch cos my brother in law, Jern, loves their chicken rice so much. Initially we wanted to dine at Ampang Yong Tau Foo, but it was kinda full and we couldnt get any parking space at all. So Tiam Fatt it is! Their char siew kai fan is still our all time favorite dish.

Zo-Yi has grown so much since the last time i saw her early last year. I'm still not used to her calling me ah yee (which means aunty in chinese btw), and she always holds my hand whenever we walk side by side. Having spent most of her life in Australia, her distinctive accent is so cute especially when she tries to append the 'lah' at the end of her every sentence. Hahaha. She doesn't know any Malay. Her chinese also fail, such a banana. ;)

It rained just now, and it foiled their plan to visit the zoo, sigh. They'll be going back to Oz land somewhere next week due to Jern's work commitments, it'll be till next year before i see them again.

Oh rly?

Currently Listening to Norah Jones - Thinking About You

A friend asked me why i looked so pale these days, and i have to keep assuring him that i am doing okay, and not critically ill like he initially suspected. I didnt even realise i looked pale considering i'm always under the sun and getting unnecessary tans. It should be a compliment instead!

muka = face
pucat
= pale

I think it is because of the gloomy weather my complexion became pale. No worries, i'm not gonna die ;)

Team Walk Now [ plug ]

Currently Listening to Chantal Kreviazuk - All I Can Do

A couple weeks back, i stumbled upon a personal blog written by Mark T. McCarter [http://confessionsofasnowballinhell.blogspot.com/] whom i fondly call Master Geek these days, he calls me Little Geek, so all is fair between us! All i did was, i left a comment in his blog and that was it. A week later, i received a thank you email from him thanking me for my kind words and how it left an impact on him.

40 years ago, Mark was born prematurely, and the nurses in the hospital made a very huge mistake by not supplying oxygen to his incubator which caused him to develop Cerebral Palsy, and resulted him to have trouble walking up to today. Initially told he was never gonna walk again, but with the iron determination in him, he was able to walk with the help of forearm braces and leg crutches. He still needs to attend therapy these days while struggling with a full time job on his hands. It's not an easy thing to deal with especially when old age is catching up with him, and going through a rough patch to complete his life.

He decided set up a website called Team Walk Now to help him achieve his dream of being to walk without the aid of his crutches for the first time in his life. His ultimate goal is to walk a mile in all 50 states in the United States by the end of 2008, without his crutches of course! Promotional works are in progress and the first walk is going to officially kickstart in 8-11 weeks time! All i ask you guys to do is visit http://teamwalknow.com/ and give him support and words of encouragement to go through the trial and tribulations that he's going through at the moment. :)

Staring At The Sun

Currently Listening to Anthony Callea - Per Sempre (For Always)

I'm home alone on a beautiful Saturday evening (it didnt rain like it did for the past 4 days. I guess the heaven had stopped weeping), so what i did was i cleaned my piggies' pen like i would everyday and blast some songs with my el cheapo Logitech speakers while i cook myself a mean instant noodle meal, with extra garlic. Parents have gone out with the extended family again, i stayed home as usual.

*just got an SMS from a friend, it's starting to rain in PJ. Bummer*

But this morning i woke up with something on my mind, but couldn't tell what is it exactly. Perhaps i'm contemplating whether i should go for the "Work and Travel USA" programme which would cost me approximately RM3k, which could pay half my fees for this semester itself. Not to mention accommodation, expenses, shopping sprees, food, etc. That would probably amount up to RM5k at least. Parents did not object to it though, in fact they told me to go ahead since i could earn some moolah and experience over there. This is weird. They wont even let me go to Bali, let alone the States!

Or maybe i'm contemplating whether i should go to the airport tonight. Arghghghhh :(

Thought of posting a couple more pictures of 'em piggies.

* Momo with her piggy cuisine, i think she's just posing. ;)

* Spy shot of Bobo sleeping in their comfort tunnel. They both will wake up to the slightest sound, and that makes it hard for me to take pictures of them sleeping. Seconds after snapping this picture, Bobo was awakened by the shutter sound. :p

Piggy Update #1

Currently Listening to Brett Anderson - California Sun

My pigs have been eating a whole lot lately and i got them 1kg of Alfalfa Hay today cos they finished the previous packet already! Every Tuesday and Saturday is the time for us to restock their cabbage, salad leaves, cucumbers and spinach supply in the fridge. Their piggy cuisine is almost finished as well, which means another quick visit to Great Eastern Mall this weekend. Dad's still trying to get the perfect material to build them a 2 storey mansion though. -__-

Some pics i've taken from the last few days with my phone. Pardon the bad quality. Ah, i love them to bits!

HAPPY 21st BIRHTDAY ELIZA THOMAS!!!

I remember okay!!!!111oneonesatusatueleven

Exactly a year ago, i was frantically trying to revive my Mac after a few tweaks done by my uncle. Then a major landslide happened near my place killing 4 people in the village at the bottom of the hill, and we were warned that most of us might have to move out soon. Luckily that didnt happen :)

My mum just told me that grandpa once brought her to watch Rose Chan's show when she was a small girl *jeles*

I was browsing through my YouTube and found this video among my favourites. HAHAHA

Typical eat, shit, sleep entry :p
